Academic dress & photography

As the ceremony is a formal occasion it is customary that academic dress is worn. East Riding College and Scarborough TEC have engaged the services of William Northam, Robemakers & Photographers as its official robe-maker to supply academic dress for the occasion. Students can order their gowns when they book their place.
Gowning and photography will take place at East Riding College, St Mary’s Walk campus.

  • Cap and gown hire cost is approximately £38
  • Basic photography packages start from £29 plus postage

Bookings should be made a minimum of 21 days in advance of the ceremony. William Northam Photography will also provide a photographic and framing service; you will receive options during the booking process.

Please note we encourage photography to be taken before the ceremony, after gowning. After which you will make your way to the Priory Church of St Mary where you will register and take your place in the ceremony.
